interaction 2000: print's digital design annual

This "MP3 DJ ware" started life as simply a virtual copy of a Technics 1200 turntable. When the MP3 wave hit, Derek Chung added support for downloadable music formats and various DJ features. He also gave the program a more original interface that was inspired not by the "black boxes" of consumer electronics but by furniture and video game consoles. The result is a "more colorful, ergonomic and fun" look with features that would be impossible in a physical hardware piece (e.g. curved sliders)
